Šie vožtuvai leidžia srautą į antrąjį kontūrą, kai tik slėgis 1 jungtyje viršija nustatytą vožtuvo vertę.
Be to, per integruotą atbulinį vožtuvą iš jungties 2 į jungtį 1 galima atvirkštinė tėkmė.
Slėgio nustatymas reguliuoja slėgį jungtyje Nr. 1 priklausomai nuo atmosferos slėgio išleidimo.
Atmosferiškai ventiliuojami vožtuvai turėtų būti naudojami tik tuo atveju, jei neįmanoma įrengti drenažo jungties.
Laikui bėgant šie vožtuvai gali būti nesandarūs iš išorės arba į spyruoklės kamerą gali patekti drėgmės.
